The Commission further stated that if the company did not rectify these practices, it could face fines of up to 10% of its global annual revenue, a staggering penalty given Meta’s multi-billion-dollar earnings. Repeat violations could see this figure rise to 20%.In response to these findings, Meta retains the right to challenge the decision, but the company has a difficult road ahead.

It is my opinion that this “Pay or Consent Model” is not actually a “consent” model since from user’s perspective consent is based on economical issues and for Meta the same is true. In the end it all resume to financial decisions between a “giant” and an ant. Thank you again for your work.
